Dubai, May 20: A Dubai-bound Emirates plane carrying 427 passengers skidded off the runway at Manila International Airport early on Thursday, but there were no injuries.

An airline spokesperson in Dubai told Gulf News: "Emirates Flight EK335, while negotiating a U-turn when taxiing at Manila International Airport to take off for Dubai went into a soft surface and was unable to move forward."

The 427 passengers, who suffered no injuries, safely left the aircraft and were accommodated overnight in hotels, the airline said.

A new nosewheel was flown in from Hong Kong to replace the damaged part.

The flight was rescheduled and arrived in Dubai at 9.50pm local time on Thursday.
