Udupi: Three new trains from Mangalore - Congress gives credit to J P Hegde

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Feb 21: Through a media release, district Congress general secretary, B Narasimha Murthy, said that three trains are being flagged off from Mangalore on February 23, because of the efforts put forth in this direction by the party’s Lok Sabha member, Jayaprakash Hegde.

On February 23, three trains are scheduled to be unveiled at Mangalore Central station. They are, Mangalore Central - Madgaon Inter-city Express, Mangalore-Kachiguda biweekly Express, and Mangalore-Bhatkal DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) trains.

Union railway minister, Mallikarjun Kharge, will be flagging off these trains. In addition, Kharge will also initiate works on new railway line between Chikmagalur and Sakleshpur, he added.

"Because of the pressure brought on the previous railway minister, Pawankumar Bansal, by MP Jayaprakash Hegde, with the assistance of minister, Oscar Fernandes, these trains are becoming a reality now."

Murthy added that an express train to Chikmagalur is already running daily from Bangalore.

He said that the DMU train between Bhatkal and Mangalore will come handy for those who commute between the town and Mangalore every day.

I fully agree with you and also commend the efforts put in Mr. Dias and his colleagues in getting these trains to Mangalore. JP has done nothing for his constituency. He has uttered a single word against Yettinahole project, which would be devastating effect on the lifeline of DK.

Current route for Mangalore-Kacheguda train via Palakkad, Coimbatore, Katpadi, Renigunta, Gooty is 1526KM. Shortest Rout is 1093KM via Hassan,Arsikere, Chikjajur,Bellary,Guntakal,Dhone,Kurnool,Kacheguda. However entire shortest route is single track with no electrification where as Other side up to Gooty it's a double track with electric traction.

This can be a election stunt but JP Hegde is honest and clean person. I remember from the day he won he was talking about introducing new trains and finally he has done it unlike many other politician who only give false promises. JP Hedge wont promise much and talk nonsense. I am sure he will win this time too from Udupi Chikmangalore. Many people are talking here that he is from congress and his party is corrupt. People, remember one thing, tomorrow Modi or Rahul will not come to solve our local problems. Dont think about the party. Vote a better person who can bring new things and development in our region. Fri, Feb 21 2014

All the 3 new trains are not so useful for Mangaloreans because,
    1. Mangalore Central - Madgaon Inter-city Express runs almost at the same time of Mangalore - Verna passenger train instead of running in the opposite direction.
    2. Mangalore-Kachiguda biweekly Express runs via Kerala, TN and reaches Hyderabad, instead of passing through Hassan, Bangalore.
    3. Mangalore-Bhatkal DMU starts from Thokur instead of the Mangalore Central station.
Also Karnataka Govt. has given permission for Kanhangad-Kaniyoor railway line survey, which if realized will congest already saturated Mangalore-Hassan railway line.
Union railway minister, Mallikarjun Kharge should have at least created new Mangalore Railway division, which is presently under the hold of Kerala lobby. After all Phalghat railway divisions is breathing under the revenue generated from Mangalore Port areas, depriving Mangalore from railway development.

This report clearly says that the Udupi DCC secretary is giving exclusive credit to MP J.P.Hegde over starting of Three new Trains from Mangalore. But Mr. Hegde has not claimed the credit as he is aware that Ex. Col. Dias and his colleagues are hell bent on starting few Trains, which are beneficial to Coastal Karnataka people. Any demand from the public has to be supported by People's representative so here comes Hegde and Oscar. However the credit should be equally shared by Udupi Railway yatrigara Sangha convener Col. Dias and MP J.P. Hegde. Let us keep Oscar out of it, as jokingly we say that he gives more attention towards his better half than his Party or his Native People.

I completely agree with you, Shobakka does not stand against JP hegde. Personally, he is very much capable, but his party principle does not allow him to work. Example: To start one train they need to get the permission from BUS OWNERS first. That is why Bangalore Mangalore train routed through AP, TN and KL. When you have to travel between two places won't you take the shortest possible route? And you Hypocrite say AP, TN and KL are not in pakistan. Here the matter is people of Mangalore are betrayed by your dongi party.

I personally don't like Shobakka. But this time people are going to vote against corrupt congress. They will vote for Modi, not for Shobha. Remember last election, people like Moiddin Bava had won in Mangalore.

First, you need to see whether India is capable of building railway infrastructure which is good enough to run separate trains for each city...everyone should get whatever we currently have..The existing network is already biggest in the world, still not good enough to fulfil demand. Govt is spending on expanding the network every year based on how much they can afford to spend..

Why didn’t NDA start those kind of transport system you are dreaming? They were collecting bricks to build the temple…

I know being a supporter of right extremist party you will never understand what 'National Interest' is..because all that you know is divide people based on their religion & region..

why do you think people should vote for Modi. He has a bloody history, a country like INDIA will never accept dictator like him...whatever PR publicity he had is fading away. ...what’s wrong with Moidin..at least he has the sense of what to do where..

Dear Bhandarkarmam,The Train mentioned by you is subsituted by new train from Mapusa-Amchi Mumbai running half yearly and named as "Jossey Pataki Express"
Jussey brought pressure through Oscar.Otherwise it would have become "Pusku"

Yes, some 2-3 years back Joss was seen climbing the Guard's cabin in that train according to reports. Some sources say it was for 'train' ing...After the 'tracks' came off, his eyes fell on the Daiji Comment Column it seems....That's how you see....

Mr Suvin you are right. What about the Bangalore-mangalore express train??. Mallu congress will not allow separate Mangalore division, so Kharge preferred to please them over us for vote (betrayer). Also highway minister Oscar has not maintained NH 75 shiradi ghats that is the tourism route for Dharmasthala and Subramanya. Verappa is like Verrapan looting the DK people by diverting our nethravathi water. Wake up for Mangalore bandh.
