Golfer Vani hopeful of third title of season

Gurgaon, March 11 (IANS): The Hero Women's Professional Golf Tour heads to the Classic Golf Resort for the fifth leg of the season from Wednesday.

Delhi's Vani Kapoor will be the front-runner as she has already completed two victories this season and has shown maturity and consistency. In the absence of Bangalore's Sharmila Nicollet, veteran Smriti Mehra and Neha Tripathi, Vani is the clear favourite.

This is also a great opportunity for Saaniya Sharma, Ankita Tiwana, Pallavi Jain and Shweta Galande to prove their mettle as they will all aim for a top-3 finish. Preetinder Kaur, Priya Puri, Vaishavi Sinha, Vandana Agarwal, Nikki Ponappa and amateur Amandeep Drall will complete the field.

The Rs.5 lakh event is the fifth in the series of 14 this year.
