Last year's hit Konkani movie 'Padri' may have had its share of sad events. Just as if to make it up, 'Dream Girl' has a loadful of comedy.
Any movie should make the viewers laugh and enjoy, says its executive producer Jerald Crasta.
The story revolves around three simple characters - compounder Kistu, mironn Minga and police Pasku. Sobin, a newly-joined nurse at the hospital of Dr D'Souza becomes the centre of attraction for the trio. All the three try to win her heart.
To settle the issue, one fine day, Sobin asks the three of them through letters to meet her at the beach at an appointed time. All the three turn up there and meet each other to everyone's surprise. The girl's father enters the scene, eventually followed by the girl.
In how the events take a strange twist lies the climax of the movie.
Seema Botelho, Jerald Crasta, Frederick Saldanha, Lancy Fernandes, Santan Pinto, Robert Fernandes and Jyoti Crasta in the main cast. Although they are all new to the movie line, they have all performed well, according the production team.
Vinod Ganguli, who has already made a name in and around Kundapur as a playwright and director is the producer, director and writer of the movie. This is his maiden attempt at movie production.
Jerald Crasta is the executive producer, while Richard D'Almeida is the outdoor production executive. Music has been composed by Raj-Jeevan. Videography and editing has been executed by Rony Almeida.
Producer-director Vinod Ganguli is a writer, playwright, artiste and Konkani worker, who owns a theatrical training school, namely "Pratibha Rang-Vijnyan Akademy". He is also a good compere and a resource person. Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Akademy has honoured him as a "Konkani Mhan Mhonis" some time ago. He works as an electronics lecturer at Don Bosco Technical institute, Trasi.
As there are a very few theatres for the Konkani films in the Konkani world, this new film will be relesed to the public in the VCD format so that anybody can watch it at home.
Encouraged by the successful completion of his first attempt, Vinod Ganguli has taken up the task of his second venture well before the completion of the maiden movie. It is also going to be an interesting movie, which he is confident of completing by coming October.
