Voting hours extended 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.


Jammu, April 3 (IANS): Voting hours for the coming Lok Sabha election has been fixed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Chief Election Commissioner V.S. Sampath announced Thursday.

Sampath told the media here that this had been done to accommodate the increasing number of voters across the country.

He put the number of voters in Jammu and Kashmir at 69.33 lakh. He said a total of 9,633 polling centres would come up in the state's six Lok Sabha constituencies.
