Three JNU students killed in campus accident


New Delhi, April 18 (IANS): Three students of Jawaharlal Nehru University were killed within the campus when their motorcycle hit a divider and a tree, police said Friday.

The accident took place at 2.30 a.m. Friday.

The dead were in their 20s.

They have been identified as Ravi Singh Chaudhary, Ravi Shankar Gupta, both residents of Gaya in Bihar, and Santosh, who hailed from Ranchi.

The trio was riding the motorcycle inside the wooded campus of the university here.

One of them was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and the other two were taken to Safdarjung Hospital.

"One of them died on the spot, while the other two succumbed to their injuries during treatment," a police official said.

The official said the students were pursuing their Master's in Korean language at the university.
