Mumbai, Apr 19: The Goregaon east branch of the Bharath Cooperative Bank was inaugurated thirty years ago by the then union minister B Janardhan Poojary. The thirtieth anniversary of the branch was celebrated on Saturday April 19, by conducting a satyanarayana pooja.
The bank branch has Rs 464 crores deposit, has advanced Rs 407 crores of loans and has Rs 32 lacs of non-performing assets. It has earned a profit of Rs 16 crores and is considered the best performing branch of the bank with a turnover of Rs 1,000 crores and three decades of meritorious service. The CEO of the Bharath Bank Jaya C Suvarna lit the lamp and cut the cake to celebrate the occasion.
The branch was the third to start among the 55 branches of the bank and is functioning from Samanth Estate’s Shivagiri building, Goregaon east. Jaya C Suvarna said that the presence of Janardhan Poojary who had inaugurated the branch was conducive to the performance of the branch.
The bank’s directors advocate S B Amen, Bhaskar M Salian, managing director C R Mulky, former directors N Nityanand and Gopal Jathan, prestigious customers of the bank and well wishers Vinayak Samanth, Om Prakash Sultania, Anirud Joshi, O P Singh, Anil Chanderi, Prasad Desai, Srikanth Lavande, Suresh Kamath and L R Anchan were present on the occasion.
Dhananjay S Shanti Ulloor and Shekhar Shanti Ulloor conducted the Satyanarayana Pooja, arati and distributed the prasada. Gangadhar Kalladi too cooperated in the devotion. Bank employees Ravi Suvarna, Hema R Suvarna and Master Jatin R Suvarna participated in the devotional programme.
