Mumbai, Jun 24: Striking a pose in lace, leather and a metal headdress or gyrating to energetic jhatkas and matkas in tight, sequinned bodysuits or lehengas that weigh a ton can be made to look like a piece of cake by models and actors. But all's not rosy when the arc lights dim - they feel the pinch (quite literally) of weird and uncomfortable costumes. While 'Krrish' is all set to blaze Bollywood in an all-leather ensemble, DNA asked Mumbai's pretty people about the sham behind the glam.
Priyanka Chopra
My most uncomfortable outfit was a swimsuit that I wore in 'Andaaz'. Somehow that particular suit made me feel very awkward. In fact, I was more uncomfortable when I was watching myself wearing it onscreen. I haven't sworn off swimsuits, but the kind I wore in 'Andaaz' is definitely a no no.

The outfit that I wore for the item song 'Aayiye aajayiye.' for the film 'Lajja' was something else altogether. It was a tight, metallic leather outfit which stuck to my skin. I couldn't even lift my hands and I was doing this jhatak item number. I had to do six changes for that particular song - it was really crazy and painful too!
Deepika Padukone
There have been a few costumes I've worn for shows and shoots that were uncomfortable. In particular I remember this top that I wore, which was a tad too skimpy and held up with a single string at the back. There was nothing to support it from the sides or around my neck. Apart from that, at a JJ Valaya show in Muscat I had tied a saree too tightly and hence found it very difficult to walk, but the designer was not to blame at all.
Fleur Xavier
Recently I wore a very large garment, which prevented me from entering and exiting the stage from the back. It was a large, wired skirt with wooden pieces on it. In fact, when I was climbing up stairs I had to hold it up to chest level!
Mini Mathur
I remember my first television debut with a show called 'Tol Mol Ke Bol'. I had to wear a pink lehenga that weighed around 35 kgs. I was dressed almost like a bride and was extremely uncomfortable. I was nervous as it was my first show.
Iqbal Khan:
I had to wear this 10th century outfit for my first film 'Funtoosh'. The fit was weird and I had this huge 'durban' kind of moustache. And to top it all, I had to wear a hat and long stockings! We shot the whole song sequence in this outfit. I couldn't wait to get out of it.
