Mangalore, Jun 26: The newly-appointed deputy commissioner of the district will take charge on Monday June 26 evening, said sources.

As reported earlier Dr H V Parshwanath who was the deputy commissioner of the district for the last one year was transferred and Maheshwar Rao, an IAS officer was appointed in his place.  Since Dr Parshwanath was in Bangalore at the time of his transfer, the new DC could not take over the charge.

However, later it was known that the new DC would not be taking over the charge soon.  There was also news that the transfer was cancelled and Dr Parshwanath would continue here.  As if to justify this, Dr Parshwanath was not given a new placement too.

But now all these rumours have been put to rest with Dr Parshwanath's transfer.  He has been transferred to KEPRC.  The newly-appointed DC Maheshwar Rao was earlier the director of KUIDFC.
