New Delhi, May 15 (IANS): India's wholesale price index based inflation fell to 5.2 percent in April, the lowest in two months, helped by slower increase in food and fuel prices, government data showed Thursday.
The inflation based on Whole Price Index (WPI) was at 5.7 percent in March. It was 4.77 percent in the April 2013, according to data released by the ministry of commerce and industry.
Food inflation eased to 8.64 percent in April, sharply lower from 9.9 percent recorded in the month earlier. Fuel and power inflation declined to 8.93 percent.
