DU Cluster Innovation Centre admission begins June 24

New Delhi, May 21 (IANS): The admission procedure to four-year under-graduate programme of Delhi University's Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) begins June 24, an official said Wednesday.

"The admission process will begin June 24 and end July 24," Shobha Bagai, professor at CIC, told IANS.

The CIC admits students on the basis of entrance test and interview.

The entrance test will be held July 27.

"To get admission to CIC, a student needs to first get admission in any of the DU colleges and then apply," added Bagai.

CIC offers Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech.) in humanities and B.Tech. Innovation with mathematics and information technology on meta college principle.

"Meta college principle means that once students get admission in CIC, they can choose any college and study there for two semesters after which they will have to change to any other college," she said.

Among the subjects offered, the students can study a combination of two subjects in one year and get a different combination for the other year.

The subjects offered under B.Tech. humanities are journalism, education, art and design, historical tourism and counselling.

Under the B.Tech. in mathematics and innovation, students can choose electronics, management, economics and system biology.

"We are very flexible with a lot of emphasis on practical and projects," added Bagai.

The first batch of student will pass out from CIC in 2015.
