Mumbai, Jul 9: Cricket has a passionate following in India and most books about the game reflect on the heroes of the sport or the game itself.

But in the middle of the football fever comes a book on the game through the eyes of a spectator, an average cricket fan.

You must like cricket? Well, its not a question but the name of Soumya Bhattacharya's book on cricket.

Unlike most books on cricket the author has written it from the point of view of the average cricket fan and that is what makes it an interesting read.

"It does address hundreds and thousands of people out there who are keen to know about the game and crazy about it. No one has written about them or for them. Though it is my story it does speak for many other people. I hope it does," the author of You must like cricket? Soumya Bhattacharya said.

"So many little things that you relate to as a cricket fan - Oh! I did that, I felt like that when I was a little child or in college or I felt like that when India won or somebody played a great innings - are there. It is really about being a fan," the editor of cricinfo.com Sambit Pal said.

Actress Mandira Bedi did the honours and released the book and she was quite impressed with the narrative, particularly the piece that she read out for the gathering.

"The way he has written it and where ever he has described the matches, he has transported you to that particular time and that particular match," Mandira Bedi added.

The book is sure to strike a chord with all those who love the sport and have gone through the same emotions at one time or the other.
