Bhatkal: Drunk driver mows down three; one dead, two critical

Bhatkal, June 2: One person was killed and two injured after car hit three youths standing by the roadside in Kodal near the Goa-Maharashtra border around 11 pm on Saturday May 31. The driver of the car was drunk.


The three youth were returning to their room after work. The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Vasu Naik (21), resident of Bhatkal Jali. The injured are Vasanth Naik and Annappa Naik, hailing from Murudeshwer Basti. Both are in critical condition.

The nearest hospital was around 60 km from the spot. The police contacted Ganesh's family after identifying him around 4:00 am on Sunday June 1.

Agasaim police registered a case against the driver.
