Mangalore, Jun 3: Deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim on Monday June 2 directed the tourism department to increase the pace of finalizing the brochure and the geographic map of the district. He advised the MUDA commissioner to upload the proposed map on the official website of the authority.
Ibrahim said this in a review meeting of the tourism department which discussed many tourism-related issues at the DC office.
The meeting threw light on the fact that most of the tourism-related projects are pending across the district.
Learning from the department that the brochure finalization was underway, he asked for suggestions from the officials to improve the quality and added that the department should ensure the unveiling of the brochure soon.
The DC also checked the drafted map displayed before him and set a deadline of July 15, 2015 for the release of both items.
Apart from this, operation of buses to Panambur beach was discussed, following which concerned authorities said that a notice with regard to plying the route had been sent to all the bus owners.
Permits for four new buses were granted on the condition that they would operate on these routes. The time allotment for the buses has to be done in the next few days to come.
Panambur beach tourism development project CEO Yatish Baikampady presented the current status of Tannir Bavi and Panambur beaches in the meeting.
Jitendranath, the assistant director, tourism department and Zilla Panchayat CEO Tulasi Madineni were present.
