Udupi: T M A Pai Pratishtana presents Distinguished Achievement awards

Udupi, Jun 9: The T M A Pai Pratishtana organized the Distinguished Achievement awards for outstanding Konkanis, instituted by Dr T M A Pai Foundation here on Saturday June 7.

Jayant Kaikini, a popular writer and lyricist said, "We should think beyond the parameters of life; it would make everything possible."


"No one should get stuck in a single profession. People should lead simple lives and be compassionate," he added.

Referring to the life of Sunitha Gangopadyaya, a famous writer, he said that people should be broad-minded and think beyond work, retirement, home and family in order to achieve success.

Writer Surya Ashok from Kochi received Dr T M A Pai Best Konkani Book Award for her travelogue 'Ananya Kenya.'

Speaking after receiving the award, Anathnag said that Konkani was one of the beautiful languages in the country. 

He added that the Konkani theatre had helped him a lot when he entered the film industry and the theatre had given him a new life.

M V Kamath, a senior journalist and writer, wished the award winners. 

Satish Pai, the director of  Manipal Media Network was present on the dias.

T Mohandas Pai welcomed the gathering and H Shantaram delivered the vote of thanks. Vidyavant Acharya compeered.

T Ranga Pai, the principal of T M A Pai Polytechnic Education and K Vinayak Kini, the headmaster of Indrali English Medium High School were present.
