Grenade attack in Kenya injures seven

Nairobi, June 12 (IANS): At least seven people were injured in a grenade attack by some unidentified men in a Kenyan town of Garissa Wednesday evening, police said.

"There was a powerful explosion where seven people were chatting outside their house in Ngamia Road area in Garissa town," Xinhua quoted Garissa County Police Commander Charles Kinyua as saying, adding unidentified people hurled a hand grenade at them at around 7.30 p.m.

"We suspect the attacker was aiming to kill the survivors who luckily escaped with minor injuries, after the explosive device missed them by a whisker," the official added.
