Hamirpur, Jun 12 (Bhaskar News): In yet another horrific incident, a 45-year-old woman was allegedly raped by 4 policemen in Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
The incident happened on Wednesday when the woman went out to find out the reason for her husband's arrest.
She went to the Bharua Sumerpur police station where she was allegedly raped by the cops.
The case came into limelight when the woman went to SP of Hamirpur and narrated her plight on Wednesday evening.
Thereafter, sub inspector Rahul Pandey was arrested by the Hamirpur police while 2 constables are still escaping. Pandey was taken into custody from the official headquarter.
The SP of Hamirpur, VK Shekhar said ""A case for rape is being registered against the policemen at the Sumerpur police station. The victim has been given security and best efforts are being put to track the remaining two."
The woman's husband was arrested for possession of illegal gun on June 9. As per police sources, he was arrested in the course of patrolling.
According to woman, she met Pandey to get in touch with her husband when he asked her to sit in the police station. After 20 minutes, 2 police constables came to the room.
The constables dragged the woman to the corner of the building and raped her for 2 hours.
She was allowed to leave at 3 in the afternoon. After she left the police station, her husband was also released from the police station.
The woman has accused that she was allegedly threatened by the policemen for not speaking about the incident of rape to anyone or else her husband will be arrested yet again.
