Bangalore: Elected unopposed - 4 to Rajya Sabha, 7 to Council

Bangalore, Jun 12: All the four candidates in the fray for the Rajya Sabha and seven for the Legislative Council from the Karnataka Legislative Assembly were declared elected unopposed on Thursday.
The four candidates to become Rajya Sabha members are: B K Hariprasad, Rajeev Gowda (both Congress), Prabhakara Kore (BJP) and D Kupendra Reddy of JD(S).

The seven candidates for the Legislative council election are: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwara, H M Revanna, N S Boseraju and Jayamma Balaraju (all Congress), T A Saravana of JD(S), K S Eshwarappa (BJP) and D U Mallikarjun (independent).

With no additional candidates in the fray for both Rajya Sabha and Council elections, the Returning Officer Om Prakash, who is also the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Secretary, announced the unopposed election of all the remaining candidates in the fray as Thursday is the last day for withdrawal of nominations.
