Final Iranian n-deal requires removal of sanctions: Rouhani

Tehran, June 14 (IANS): All the sanctions against Iran should be lifted if the world powers want to clinch a comprehensive nuclear deal with the country, President Hassan Rouhani said Saturday.

Rouhani's remarks came as Iran's is preparing for a fresh round of high-level nuclear talks with the world powers in Vienna starting Monday, Xinhua reported.

The West demands Iran to dramatically lower its uranium enrichment capacity and has expressed its concerns over Iran's Arak heavy water reactor, the output of which might be used for building nuclear weapons, while Iran insists on "peaceful" nature of its nuclear activities, urging for complete removal of sanctions.

There are "differences of views" over some topics related to Iran's nuclear issue, but it is possible for a comprehensive deal between Iran and the P5 1 group, namely Britain, China, France, Russia, the US plus Germany, before July 20, Rouhani said.

It is also "possible" to start drafting a final nuclear accord in the upcoming talks between Iran and the world powers next week, Rouhani said.

Iran has said it is serious in its talks with the world powers over its nuclear issue and the West should seize the opportunity for a "historical" deal with Iran, he noted.

In case no agreement is reached prior to July 20, the situation before the interim deal reached last November will not be repeated since "the regime of sanctions against Iran has already been broken," Rouhani said, adding that Iran has much capacity to deal with the problems and to overcome them.
