Sullia: Son acquitted from charge of murdering father

Sullia, Jun 21: The district court, through an order, exonerated a man, who was facing the charge of murdering his father. 

Dayanand from Kodiyala village in the taluk was facing the charge of killing his father, Vishwanath Gowda, by hitting the latter with an equipment used for husking of areca nuts. Vishwanath Gowda had collapsed on the spot due to excessive bleeding, in the courtyard of his house.

On a complaint filed by the younger sister of Dayanand, the policemen had arrested the accused. Judge of the fifth additional district sessions court, after hearing arguments and counter arguments besides holding the trial, came to the conclusion that the prosecution had failed to to conclusively prove the guilt of the accused.

Judge of the court, Yadav Vanamala Anand Rao, through a judgment, acquitted Dayanand from murder charge. Advocates, M Venkappa Gowda from Sullia, and B Sheenappa Gowda from Puttur, had represented the accused in the case.
