Mangalore, Jun 22: A unique audio visual room implemented at Mannagudda government school by Mangalore Coastal Round Table 190 (MCRT 190) in association with Round Table India Foundation, Chennai under the concept ‘Experience Education' was inaugurated by state minister for health U T Khadar, here on Sunday June 22.
Explaining the ideology behind the concept, the project manager Neil Rodrigues said, "The number of students in government schools is declining day by day. There are three major reasons for this. Shortage of teachers, lack of global experience and backdrop in the modern learning pattern."
"This sort of an AV concept will help overcome all these existing problems. If each school in a certain area limit is implemented with this facility, the students of the neighbouring school also can be merged to utilize the facility. Not just for the school, but this concept can be used to serve the community purpose as well," he said.
He added, "AV training session was held for the policemen on June 17, where nearly 45 policemen including four ACPs took part; this concept was a success and they have even urged for a meeting once in three months," he added.
Addressing after inaugurating the event, U T Khadar said, "MCRT is a gift to the society and the nation; this AV room is indeed a result of it. Let the students of the next generation be educated through this method."
He added, "Our country can be stronger only if the students are made strong. This project is a role model to the education system of the state."
He further urged the project developers to implement the project in the schools of his area too and said that the funds would be released through the MLA funds.
"Your brains and the government's support can get better infrastructure in the education system in the coming days," said the minister.
Block education officer Lokesh, head mistress of the school Joyce, Santhosh Shetty, Yajnesh Barke, Sunil, MCRT members, the school staff, old students' association members were present.
