Mumbai, Jul 24: The special meeting of Fuddar Prathisthan, was held on Saturday July 22, at Vile Parle (East) here. 

John S Rebello was unanimously elected as the representative of the Mumbai unit of Fuddar Prathisthan.  Later he was honoured by John D’Silva, president, Fuddar Prathisthan.

It was decided that with a view to expanding its service throughout the Mangalore diocese, five zones will be formed, each to be headed by a prominent person.  Discussions were also held with regard to the  Canara Konkani Catholic World Convention to be held in December 2006.

Vincent Mathias Karkala working president, Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Rons Bantwal, coordinator, Federation of Maharashtra’s Canara Association, John S Rebello, vice president, Matunga taluk Congress (I) party, Walter Buthello, entrepreneur, Walter D’Souza Kalmadi, president, Maharashtra Konkan Association and Lawrence Coelho, editor-in-chief, Divo Konkani weekly, were also present on the dais. 

Leo Fernandes, coordinator, Maharashtra Konkan Association, welcomed the gathering. Harry S Ferrar, advisor, Federation of Maharashtra Canara Association, proposed the vote of thanks.
