Teenager held for acid attack on minor in Delhi


New Delhi, June 30 (IANS): A teenager has been detained for an acid attack in which an 11-year-old boy almost lost his eyesight, police said Monday.

The attack took place Saturday evening in east Delhi's Karawal Nagar area when Class 7 student Upendra Kumar was attacked by his 17-year-old neighbour.

Police said the people present at the spot immediately rushed the boy to a hospital where he is recuperating.

The attacker, who was caught from the spot, told police that he was not happy about Upendra Kumar playing with his younger brother.
