Mangalore, Aug 6: Guardian Angels Church, Angelore lifted the shied at the 43 inter-parish Children’s Singing Competition held annually under the aegis of Konkani Natak Sabha in Don Bosco Hall.


Angelore Parish Troupe

The competitions which began on Jul 16 with the Elocution competition will culminate on Sep 10.


Bejai Parish Troupe

Angelore Parish which battled amidst stiff competition gained 20 points to snatch the victory crown in the Children’s Singing Competition. Closely following Angelore was St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai with 15 points, standing second.


Urva parish had to be satisfied with the third place with 9 points.

An event where real talent comes forth on stage was missed my several parishes. Only 13 parishes took part in the event which summed up to 56 entries in two categories – Below 10 years and 10 to 15 years.




Competitions were held under Solo, Duet and Group classifications which were judged by musicians Walter Colaco, Cyril J D’Souza and Alwyn D’Cunha.

Excitement grew as the convener of the programme Arthur D’Souza announced the winners.





Vincent Mendonca conducted the event.
