Bantwal: Stolen tipper found, accused held

Bantwal, Jul 15: A team led by the police circle inspector here succeeded in finding out a tipper that had been reportedly stolen from Mittanadka in Karopady village near Vittal recently. The vehicle was found near the town.

The tipper, owned by Noorul Mubeen residing near K C Road, Kalladka had been reportedly parked in Karopady on May 25. It is said that it had been stolen on July 11. Based on a complaint filed by the tipper owner, a case had been registered in Vittal police station on Sunday July 13.

Acting on a tip off, local police circle inspector Belliyappa, Vittal station house officer Raghavendra T R and other policemen went to the Old Gate area here on Monday July 14 and took into possession the tipper in question. 

Hasanabba alias Kunhimonu (50), a resident of Bibi Alabi Road Mangalore, was arrested in this connection.

The accused was produced in the court. Three more accused said to be involved with this theft have gone into hiding.
