Kasargod, Jul 15: Thefts in Manjeshwar have increased these days causing an atmosphere of fear among the locals. In a recent incident, thieves decamped with 20 sovereign gold and Rs 10,000 from a house in Manjeshwar Kodlamagaru. The incident that occurred in the house of Devaraj Shetty came to light on Tuesday July 15. 

According to the sources, the thieves broke the iron gate of the sit out behind the house when the family was sleeping at night. They removed the bolt of the door and entered the house.


They have taken away the jewellery and cash kept in the cupboard. The cover in which the gold was kept was found behind the house.

Manjeshwar station police rushed to the spot and started investigation.
