Bantwal, Jul 17: An elderly lady allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well at Panemangalore here on Thursday July 17.
The deceased has been identified as Tara D Kudva (77), wife of Dayanand D Kudva, a resident of Panemangalore.
It is said that she committed suicide by jumping into the well at around 5.30 am.
It is learnt that she had been suffering from depression from some time, as her daughter could not get married. The family members suspect this to be the prime reason for the lady to take this extreme step.
Bantwal town police rushed to the spot and fished out the body from the well and shifted it to the Bantwal government hospital. A case is yet to be registered.
