Puttur: Woman's murder - court permits husband's narco analysis

Puttur, Jul 17: Pushpalatha (34), a married woman residing near Uppinangady Church, was murdered about 40 days ago. But the policemen have remained clueless about the culprits involved with this murder, even after exploring various avenues and questioning a large number of people.

There has been pressure on the policemen by way of petitions and protests to intensify their investigation and find out the truth. 
Upholding a plea moved by the prosecution in the light of the above, the court here, on Wednesday July 16, permitted to subject Gurumurthy, the husband of Pushpalatha, who works as a headmaster of the government high school at Hirebandady, for a narco analysis.

Rural police circle inspector, Suresh Kumar had moved an application seeking permission for the above, in order to find out whether the woman's husband has been hiding from the investigating officials. 

Presiding officer of the court, Gurumurthy, after conducting the hearing, permitted for conducting a narco analysis test as prayed. Investigating officer in the case, Suresh Kumar, said that further steps to get this procedure done will be undertaken after contacting the experts at the forensic laboratory at Bangalore.
