Udupi, Aug 13: The floods caused in the Kashi rivulet of Kollur inundated the neighbouring region of Kollur and Haliberu villages.
Houses were inundated at Marvanthe, Badakere, Navunda, Trasi and Senapura villages in Kundapur taluk as the water level in the Souparnika and its tributaries increased steeply on Saturday.
The residents are at peril as roads, houses, electric poles have been washed away. Twelve families have been shifted to a school at Badakere. Ten houses had been inundated in Uppinakudru village.
The low area of Halliberu bridge, the vital link between Kollur and Haliberu has been damaged.
Several houses were reported inundated in Uppinakudru,, Kadavinabagilu and Guddekeri areas in Gangoli.
Sea erosion had been reported from Marvanthe
The Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj, Chief Executive Officer of the zilla panchayat P Hemalatha, and Assistant Commissioner Prabhakar Sharma visited the floods affected areas.
