Udupi: Foundation stone laid for Assisi Nilaya-St Padre Pio Prayer House

Udupi, July 22: The foundation stone laying ceremony for a Capuchin Friary ‘Assisi Nilaya-St Padre Pio Prayer House’ was held at 5 pm in Nalku Beedi, Kattingeri, Moodubelle, on Monday July 21.

Fr Robert Lasrado, the Superior of Assisi Nilaya, welcomed the guests. Fr Dolphy Pais, the Capuchin provincial of the Holy Trinity province, Karnataka conducted the prayer service and blessed the foundation stone. 


Fr Paul Sequeira, principal of St Lawrence PU College, Moodubelle and Fr Robin Victor D’Souza, the province administrator were present. The donor of the land Harold Martis, son of Albert Martis and his family, engineer Ganesh Bailur and contractor Harold Martis were present for the function. 

Fr Provincial thanked all people who were responsible for the function and expressed his desire that the project will be realized in the near future with the co-operation of the donors and well-wishers and the supervision of the superior. The neighboring people, the Friars and students of Assisi Nilaya witnessed the ceremony.

Fr Prakash Lobo compered the function.
