Bhatkal: Prayers mark celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr

Bhatkal, July 29: The people of Bhatkal celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with religious fervour and enthusiasm.

Eid prayers were offered at all Juma Masajids since the condition in the Idgahs were not suitable for prayers due to the incessant rains for the past few days. This is the third consecutive year where Eid prayers were offered in the Juma Masjid due to rains.

Moulana Abdul Bari Nadvi led the prayers at Jamia Masjid, Moulana Khwaja Moinuddin Akrami Nadvi at Khaleefa Masjid, Maulana Ameen at Noor Masjid, Moulana Niyamatullah Askeri at Maghdoomia Masjid, Moulana Ansar Madani at Millia Masjid and Moulana Sawood Nadvi at Madeena Masjid.


Later an Eid procession was carried out from Jamia Masjid; after passing through Khaleefa Jamia Masjid, Mohammed Ali Road, Chowk Bazar, Main Road, Old Bus Stand and Sultan Street th procession culminated at the starting point. People exchanged Eid greetings and hugged each on the occasion.

Bhatkal DySP Mhuturaj, CPI Prashant S Naik along with others visited Bhatkal Jamia Masjid and exchanged greetings with the Muslim brethren.

The Bhatkal police department has made adequate security arrangements outside all Namaz venues to prevent any untoward incidents.
