Managalore, Aug 22: Akhila Bharatha Karmika Sangha led by Sudatta Jain Shirtady on Friday August 22, urged the DC of Dakshina Kannada to intervene and set right the out-of-order MCC.
Sudatta Jain Shirtady addressing the gathering in-front of the DC office said, “Today Mangalore City Corporation(MCC) is out of order due to the unavailability of a firm commissioner. This has given an opportunity for the corrupt officials to make money for themselves. In the name of repair of the town hall there is a conspiracy to misuse the tax payers money.”
“The mayor and the other corporators are trying to fool the people through various methods. The most recent one is the repair of the town hall on its golden jubilee celebration. Due to the unavailability of the permanent commissioner, the MCC is operating similar to the ship without a captain," he added.
He urged the DC to intervene and send the corrupt officials home.
"Since there are no proper drainage and footpath facilities I urge the DC to issue orders to finish the town hall work within a month and set right the drain and footpath facilities in the city,” he said.
Members of the association Harish Kumar, Jayamma, Rithesh Karkal were present on the occasion.
