Hassan: St Philomena’s College holds second graduation day

Hassan, Aug 25: St Philomena’s First Grade College for Women, Hassan held the second Graduation Ceremony on Monday August 25 in the college hall. This is the fully fledged college for women in Karnataka run by the Sisters of Charity Education Society, Mangalore.

108 students graduated this year in Commerce and Business Management. The function began after a ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a prayer dance. David Kumar gave the formal welcome address. Sr Marcelin Veigas presided over the function and administered the oath to the graduates.

Sr Jasmine Correa, the Principal of the college spoke on the significance of the event and wished the graduates well in their life. Dr Sr Gladys Menezes , Snehalaya Hospital, Solur, Bangalore was the chief guest; professor Basappa K V, Principal N.D.R.K First Grade College, Hassan, the guest of honour distributed certificates to the graduating students. Sadanand Swamy proposed the vote of thanks. Toppers of BBM and BCom were felicitated. Roopa Rao and Raghav were the masters' of ceremony.
