India-Canada to sign personnel management agreement

New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS): India and Canada will sign an agreement on sharing of experiences in personnel management through information technology and data collection.

Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh Monday met Canadian minister Tony Clement, who is also president of the treasury board.

Jitendra Singh said that while the government is trying to introduce enhanced transparency and accountability in personnel management, there already exists a wide range of checks and balances in the working of the Indian governance system.

He informed the Canadian minister how, during the last three months, initiatives had been taken to accomplish the prime minister's commitment to good governance.

The two ministers announced that the two countries will sign a Memorandum of Understanding and share experience in personnel management through information technology and data collection.

Clement shared his government's inputs from "Canadian Open Data Experience" (CODE). He offered to share the same with his counterparts in India.
