Puttur, Sep 2: In an incident which occurred at Basiradka in Nettanige Mudnoor village in the taluk on Monday September 1, an attempt to rape was made against a ten-year-old girl.
It is said that the girl, who was walking towards her home, was pulled by her hands by a youth. The youth who made this overture happens to be a resident of Menala near Eshwaramangala in the taluk. He is said to be a first year degree course student in a college in the town.
The girl, who reported the incident to her parents, was subjected to medical test in the town by her parents. They also filed a complaint in the rural police station here, duly identifying the aggressor as
Harsha, a college student. The policemen obtained a written statement from the girl and arrested the accused student for questioning.
The case, which stands registered in rural station, is being investigated by the officials.
