Mangalore: St Aloysius ITI celebrates Teachers' Day

Mangalore, Sep 6: Friday September 5 was indeed a colourful day for the staff of St Aloysius ITI. The initiative taken by the students to felicitate their teachers made this day unique.

The day started with a prayer ceremony for staff members lead by Wilson Martis, JTO. It consisted of bhajans and readings from Bhagavadgeetha, Quran and Holy Bible in which staff meditated and prayed for the grace of almighty on themselves to be selfless and true to their profession. They also prayed for the students and the institution.

The students conducted various games for the staff and entertained them. They also presented a cultural programme in the honour of their teachers.

During the stage programme lead by the students, teaching and supporting staff were felicitated.

Newly appointed director Fr Eric Mathias SJ addressed the gathering and urged the staff to inculcate 3Cs (compassion, commitment and courage) in their life.

The rector of St Aloysius institutions, Fr Denzil Lobo SJ presided over the function and blessed the gathering.

Principal of St Aloysius ITI , Roopesh Kumar appreciated and thanked the students for their efforts in organizing the programme. Among the dignitaries on the dais Romius Dsouza, TO and Roshan Dsouza, vice- principal were also present.

Kamaruddin, student, elaborated on the importance of Teachers’ Day celebration. Another student Lakshmeesha proposed the vote of thanks.

Shashikanth compered the programme.

The programme was concluded by distribution of sweets to all.

During the separate gathering with the staff, the retor addressed the staff and asked them to be the living examples for their students and form men and women for others as per the jesuit motto.

Mahesh Kumar, JTO conducted this gathering programme and Vincent Mendonsa, JTO proposed the vote of thanks. Refreshment was arranged for the staff.
