Other than being a well-known journalist, he was also a renowned yoga exponent and he had staged several yoga shows in various places.

He had married barely three months ago.  It was a few days ago that he was affected by jaundice.  He was admitted to a private hospital in Puttur for treatment three days ago.  But on Tuesday morning, his health condition deteriorated further and doctors advised him to be shifted to a speciality hospital in the city.  While he was being rushed to Mangalore, he breathed his last on the way.

He is survived by wife, mother, brother and two sisters.  The local journalistic community has expressed their shock over the sudden demise of Taranath Kalladka.
