Puttur, Sep 10: In an accident which occurred between a tipper truck and a motor bike near Bethany School at Nelyady on NH 75 on Tuesday September 9, a person was killed, while another was admitted into a hospital with critical injuries.

Gopalakrishna (55) from Padadka near Kokkada, Uppinangady, who was riding the pillion, sustained grievous injuries and breathed his last later in the day. Girish, who was riding the motor bike, suffered grave injuries and was admitted to a hospital.

The motor bike was moving towards Uppinangady from Nelyady, whereas the tipper was bound for Nelyady. Girish from Padadka and his father Gopalakrishna were seated on the motor bike.

Both were rushed to a hospital in Mangalore with serious injuries, but Goalakrishna could not be saved as he had lost lot of blood, it is gathered.

A case stands registered in this connection at the traffic police station here.
