Government approves integrated coffee development project


New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS): The central government Wednesday approved the implementation of integrated coffee development project for the 12th Five Year Plan period with an outlay of Rs.950 crore.

"The main objective of the scheme is to develop improved varieties and technologies for increasing production, productivity and quality of coffee, to promote Indian coffee in overseas and domestic markets, and encourage value addition to improve unit value realisation," the cabinet committee on economic affairs (CCEA) said in a statement.
