New Delhi, Sep 19 (IANS): Minister of state for Culture and Tourism Shripad Yesso Naik Friday said the culture ministry is outreaching to the audience worldwide through digitisation and is ready to launch a museum website and document archival material.

"Both my ministries are laying special emphasis on digitising the available data and processes," said Naik at a conference highlighting the achievements of his ministry during his 100-day charge.

Naik also launched the revamped website of ministry of culture and a mobile application - Sanskriti - that gives details of activities being organised by various cultural institutions across India.

"We are also starting facilities for online filing of applications pertaining to various schemes of the ministry of culture and tourism. The ministry of culture has also become active on social media platforms," he said.

Ravindra Singh, culture ministry secretary, gave a presentation where he highlighted various projects undertaken to digitise cultural imprints of India.

"Digital collection of 9,540 images from ten selected museums have been transferred to digital repository at C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing), Pune," the secretary said.

"The website, museumsofindia.gov.in is also ready for launch," he added.

He said that 1,12,500 entries pertaining to documentation of antiquities from various museums and documentation resource centres have been uploaded on the website of National Mission of Monuments and Antiquities.
