New Delhi, Sep 20 (IANS): Students from different universities of Taiwan visited the Jamia Millia University here Saturday where they interacted with Indian students and learnt about Indian culture.

The 16 students were accompanied by four officials as part of the 2014 Youth Ambassadors delegation.

"The International Youth Ambassadors Exchange Program since 2009 allow our Taiwanese youth to participate in international affairs and broaden their horizons. Such programmes are also to enhance international awareness of Taiwan's role and culture in the world," Chung Kwang Tien, representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre told IANS.

The delegation also visited Jawaharlal Nehru University, O.P.Jindal University and Amity University earlier in the week to boost cultural ties among each other.

The students belong to different academic backgrounds and visited different South East Asian countries like the Philippines and Thailand before coming to Delhi.

"I have made many friends during the exchange programme. Students are very co-operative here, appreciated us very much and even taught us about their culture," one of the visiting students, Ying Harn Lian told IANS.

Another student said he was very impressed to see Indian students learning Mandarin.

"India has unravelled in front of me in many ways. I was surprised to see the traffic jams here in Delhi and the food here is very spicy. But it is very nice to see so many religions co-existing here," Wei Han Li, a student of biotechnology told IANS.
