Monti Fest celebrated by Mangalore Cultural Association Doha Qatar

Doha, Sep 21: Mangalore Cultural Association - Qatar celebrated Monti Fest with great splendor and grandeur on September 19, 2014 at the Indian Cultural Centre Doha. The program began with emcee, Wilma D’Souza’s hospitable welcome to the gathering. In order to seek the blessings of the Almighty on the auspicious program, MCA''s Theme song was played and a prayer was recited by Hema Fernandes. The blessed corn (Noven) was served with the traditional Roce to the gathering. The Advisory Members, Mr. Felix Lobo and Mr. Wilfred Fernandes were escorted to the stage by President, Arthur Pais and Vice President Jason Quadros for a short stage program.

This year MCA revered its member''s children who have academically excelled in the 8th, 9th and 11th standard exams as an encouragement to them. 10th, 12th and Bachelor’s degree high scorers were also appreciated to continue the practice that MCA had initiated in 2012. A few cultural programs were put up by the members. A group song, "Novens Jeevan" was sung by Nina Fernandes, Vincent Fernandes, Neil D’Silva and Alphonse D’Silva. This marked an apt opening to the evening’s unambiguous cultural show. Small, Innocent children Eva, Cydelia, Ashlyn, Alton, Anstun and Glen danced to the tunes of “Ye Nari Ye”. They were very much applauded by the audience.

Rupert Lobo and Jovita Pereira – D’Souza sang the perennial romantic number composed by Late Wilfy Rebimbus, Suryachya Kirnani. The audiences were once again astounded by the energetic performance of our ladies, Susan Rodrigues, Jyothi Noronha and Shanun D’Souza on a medley of songs. Nina Fernandes, Vincent Fernandes, Neil D’Silva and Alphonse D’Silva yet again entertained the gathering by singing exquisitely some Baila numbers. Savious Crasta sang an entertaining number Tring Tring Mobile Apaitha composed by Late Wilfy Rebimbus. The music was played by Neil D’Souza for the same.

A couple of spot games were conducted by Sandeep Noronha. A cote of thanks was presented by Anil Cutinho. An entertaining drama, written by CGJ S Thakode “Moinyachi Poili Tarik” was enacted by Alwine Clifford Goveas, Jyothi Noronha, Susan Rodrigues, Benjamin Reberio and Wilson Mendonca.

The home cooked delicious food was relished by over 300 crowd with great appreciation. The flavour and taste of the food was the efforts and hard work of the MCA Advisory and Executive committee members and their family members under the able leadership of Mrs. Stephany Lobo.
