Chinese president stresses preservation of native culture


Beijing, Sep 24 (IANS): Chinese President Xi Jinping Wednesday said his country must preserve and develop its native culture and promote exchanges between different civilisations to make the world a better place.

Xi made the remarks while attending an international seminar at the Great Hall of the People here to mark the 2,565th anniversary of the birth of Confucius, Xinhua reported.

The seminar was held concurrently with the fifth Congress of the International Confucian Association (ICA).
