22nd general body meeting of the Udupi taluk panchayat held

Udupi, Sep 30: The issue of ration cards and malpractice in Udyaga Khatri Yojana dominated at the 22nd general body meeting of the Udupi taluk panchayat here on Monday September 29.

Raising the issue, Sathyananda Nayak Athradi, 80th Badagubettu, urged to provide certain criteria for Malpe-Monakalmur encroachment land for road construction in Athrady.

Answering to the question, "We have discussed about it and are working towards making 80th Badagubettu a free industrialization zone," said T Manjunathayya, executive officer of taluk panchayath. He added, "It takes time to review and make complete plan."

Women Congress president Veronica Cornelio demanded for clarificationin of ration card blocks.

In the meeting, complications about ration card registration and mistakes made by officials in new cards, became
a time consuming issue.

Roshani Olavera, member of Irodi and Pandeshwara taluk, demanded to have a center for Aadhar registration. She also appealed to construct MESCOM - a Subdivision in Goli and Pandeshwara taluk.

Social justice committee replied that, MESCOM Subdivision is in process.

She further complained that there were people, who wished to work under Udyoga Khatri Yojana and nearly more than 250 beneficiaries were seeking jobs in Kundapura constituency.

T Manjunathayya was promoted as town planning commissioner. He was felicitated by the taluk pachayat.

The meeting was held under president of taluk panchayat, Sunitha Nayaka and vice president Ganesh Kumar Udyavar.

All the committee members were present during the meeting.
