UAE, Oct 11: The Alumnae/Alumni of India’s two prestigious institutions - the St. Aloysius & St. Agnes College & Schools of Mangalore once again will come together for the REUNION 2007, which will be held during the month of February 2007.

This was announced during a brainstorming meeting between old students of both colleges held in Dubai recently.

The much awaited high profile and fun event has generated lot of interest since its inception. The Alumni/Alumnae of these two great institutions eagerly await for this day long event which is being held normally once in two years, is attracting thousands of old students and their families from all over UAE and other Middle Eastern countries.

The organizers speaking to Daijiworld informed that the venue and date of the event will be announced shortly as and when appropriate arrangements are made.

The meeting held in Dubai was chaired by Oswald M. D’Souza, Chairperson of Aloysians for the 2005 event.  Various issues were discussed and a general format for the event were planned.

The organizing committee appointed Johnson Samuel and Marissa Lobo Biddappa as the new Chairpersons for Aloysian and Agnesian Alumni/Alumnae respectively to lead the forthcoming event.

Oswald thanked the committee on behalf of Shobha Mendonca (Chairperson – Agnesians 2005 event) for their extra-ordinary support during past event and urged the members to extend the same to the new chairpersons.

Jerome Pereira (Jemma Padil) the person who was responsible to  stage the first ever Aloysian Alumni gathering in the UAE  and outside India in 1997, explained the objective of the gathering and requested all to work hard to make this event a success.

It must be noted that these institutions have impacted the lives of thousands of students, regardless of their religion, culture, and ethnic background in their cultural, educational and intellectual values. 

St. Aloysius College and School, established by the Jesuit Priests over 125 years ago, have produced some of the best stalwarts that have risen to different career successes in different parts of the world!

St. Agnes College – the all women college, run by the Apostolic Carmel nuns, which has nurtured thousands of young women, who have established themselves successfully in every sphere of life.

The old students of these premier institutions are holding high profile and prominent positions all over the U.A.E. and have proved and established their presence wherever they have gone.

The intention of the organizers is to unite together, all ex Agnesians and Aloysians with their families for a day of fun and interaction and to recall old memories of their college / school days.

It will be an excellent opportunity for the alumnae/alumni’s to meet, greet and share their past and present among the long lost friends, whom they have not met from ages.

This re-union will be exclusively for the old students and their families.

To make this event a success the organizers have requested all the old students spread all over UAE to come up with new ideas and request volunteers who can render their talent, that is, music, singing, compering or any other flair they  excel in.
