Cairo, Oct 6 (IANS/EFE) The rebels fighting against Syria's Bashar al-Assad regime Sunday took control of a strategic hill in the Al Hara region in Deraa province after two days of clashes with government forces in the area, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
According to the observatory, rebel factions and fighters with the Al Nusra Front, an Al Qaeda affiliate in Syria, are in control of the high ground dominating the region after 48 hours of fighting against troops loyal to Assad.
The statement said that four rebels had been killed but it offered no information about casualties in the ranks of the Syrian army.
