Bangalore, Nov 1: The Federation of Karnataka State Lorry Owners and Agents’ Association have decided to suspend movement of trucks on the Bangalore-Mangalore highway from Sakleshpur to Mangalore.
The Association is protesting the bad state of the road on this stretch. Traffic of lorries and private buses will be suspended completely on this stretch of the highway from November 10.
It will ban the movement of trucks inside Hubli-Dharwad twin cities from November 9, except for essential goods.
President of the Karnataka Lorry Owner’s Association, G R Shanmugappa said that apart from paying road taxes, lorry owners have to pay toll, which is collected even after the construction cost is fully recovered.
