Mangalore, Nov 6: Thundershowers late in the evening greeted the city and around for second consecutive day on Monday.

On Sunday, heavy rains accompanied by deafening thunder and lightning, hit the city and suburbs, bringing traffic to slow movement, with citizens taken totally unawares. Two major musical shows held - one at the Kalaangann amphitheatre and the other in the suburban Kelarai - came to an abrupt end on Sunday evening.

On Monday, the daytime was quite warm and humid. There was no forecast of rain either. But by 7 pm there was again a steady round of lightning and thunder besides heavey showers.

A colleague in the media said he had this feeling of rains continuing up to even mid-December and hence he had been carrying his rainwear in his two-wheeler from May even until now.

Those who came come out for shopping were seen stranded in the bazaars and shopping complexes. They had the slightest hint of the rain and had not carried umbrellas from home.

There are all indications of the drizzle continuing right through the night. There could repetition of frequent power-cuts through the night as it happened on Sunday night.

Photojournalist Satish Ira braved the rain and clicked the best possible shots of the shower.

Owing to poor visibility, whatever he got to click was charity, though.
