Kundapur, Nov 28: A survey officer was caught red-handed while accepting bribe in his office here on Monday November 27 by lokayukta inspector Prasannaraju.

Taluk survey officer B G Hudar is said to have been demanding bribe from one Balakrishna Shetty who had approached him for the survey of his land.  Despite several applications, the former had not surveyed the land since the latter had not given him bribe.  Finally, Balakrishna Shetty lodged a complaint with the lokayukta officials that Hudar was asking for bribe.

Accordingly, they hatched a plan to nab Hudar.  He was caught red-handed by inspector Prasannaraju while accepting Rs 700 from Balakrishna Shetty.  The officials returned the money to Balakrishna Shetty and registered a case against Hudar.

It was later known that the complainant had been visiting the Survey Department office located beside the taluk office here for the last 3 months urging to survey his land as the marking stone in his land had gone missing some months ago.
