Mangalore, Dec 2: Konkani Yuva Awaz on Friday, Dec 1 celebrated its first anniversary in a grand manner in Kalaangann.

Eversince it was founded, Konkani Yuva Awaz has become true platform for young leaders in serving language, culture and the society in many ways.  But the biggest achievement is that it has managed to take strides in standing for justice, peace, fighting for the weak, utilizing the potentials of youth and guiding and channeling their energies in right direction not only by various activities but even through Sprasha Counselling centre which has been rendering yeoman’s service to youth from all walks of life without barriers of religion, caste and creed.

The evening’s progrmame was graced by general secretary of NCP, Maharastra Joseph Castelino, Leo Fernandes, founder president of Maharastra Konkani Association. 

Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Eric Ozario who is the inspiration and backbone behind Konkani Yuva Awaz, Judy Pinto, counselor, Sparsha Counselling Centre, general secretary of Konkani Yuva Awaz were also present on the occasion.

Roshan Castelino, president, Konkani Yuva Awaz presided over the celebrations.

Konkani Yuva Awaz secretary Arun Ajekar presented the annual report of the organization in the form of LCD presentation. 

Earlier, the programme was inaugurated in yet another novel way.  Traditional eatery of the Mangalore region ‘Patoli’ (a delicacy baked in turmeric leaves) was distributed first to those who were present on the dais and subsequently to the gathering.

A brochure highlighting the activities of Konkani Yuva Awaz in the last one year was released on the occasion.  Denis D'Silva welcomed the gathering while Roshan Castelino proposed the vote of thanks.  Santhosh D'Costa compered the programme.
